MOSAIC TILES FROM AGRICULTURAL WASTE

The mosaic tiles are polyester mixed with 25% rice straw, milled to fine fibre particles. The rice straws are collected from various mills, dried and mixed with polymers, and then cast into small plates. The plates are arranged in a geometric mosaic-like pattern, i.e., checkered pattern, bamboo pattern, herringbone pattern, braid pattern, honeycomb pattern, serrated pattern, etc. The product comes in the following shapes and dimensions: square 15 x 15 mm., rectangle 15 x 30 mm., rhombus 22 x 38 mm., and hexagon 34 x 29 mm. The size of arranged mosaic tiles is approximately 30 x 30 mm., 2.3 mm. thick which is available in 5 colours: Dune, Khaki, Cornsilk, Ash, and Charcoal. There are colour spots visible on the material due to the brown colour of rice straw. The mosaic tile can be produced a maximum of 12 mm. thick to be used as decorative surface material as needed. The product is also suitable for wall and ceiling covers, tabletops, furniture and product surface decorations.
